Mom-Mom’s Apple Dumplings
Ingredients:
Syrup:
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups water
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Dough:
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
6 medium golden delicious apples
Cinnamon sugar

DIRECTIONS:
• Peel apples, core, cut in half, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and set aside. • Heat the first four syrup ingredients. Cooking for 5 mins until it comes to a boil. • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Then mix in shortening until flour looks like small peas. Then add milk and mix long enough to form a ball. (If it sticks add a little more flour). • Preheat oven at 375 degrees • Roll dough flat, wrap dough around two halves (shape of an apple), sprinkle cinnamon sugar inside and outside the dough. • Pour syrup over apples, cook for 25 mins until brown.

Aunt Millie's Jello Mold
Ingredients:
3 oz Orange Jello
1-2 sticks of 8ox cream cheese
One 20oz can of crushed pineapples
One 15oz can of mandarin oranges
One small bag of walnuts
1.5 containers of cool whip

DIRECTIONS:
• Drain pineapples and cream cheese to a medium size pot. Cook on low-medium heat. • Stir in jello powder until completely dissolved. • Remove from heat. Add half of the oranges and a handful of crushed walnuts • When jello mix is completely cool add remaining oranges and nuts (as needed) • Then fold in cool whip. (Note: the mix must be absolutely cool before the cool whip is added) • Add to a decorative bowl and place in fridge for at least 6 hours.
